IUPUI Ball Residence Hall Upgrades

Ball Residence Hall was initially built as the nurse’s dorm in 1928. Additions in the 1950’s almost doubled the capacity. Today, the basement and first floor of the addition (known as the Ball Hall Annex) houses the IUPUI Campus Police. The hall opens onto the beautiful (recently restored) historic Ball Gardens on the north side of the building.

Project Scope Includes:
• Bringing all new water, sewage, and HVAC services to the building, including A/C, and updating the existing electrical • Replace original restrooms, which were starting to show their age after almost 90 years of service. • Upgrading one of the two elevators to be stretcher compliant. • Upgrading 10 student rooms to be ADA compliant and bringing the building up to current housing standards for accessibility, including ADA-compliant single-occupancy restroom facilities. • Restoring, replacing and salvaging original marble, and historic stile and rail doors.
