Greenwood Community Center

The Greenwood Community Center was re-imagined into a modern and relevant center that gives a place for kids and adults to explore, play and have fun. This 30,000 sf facility includes a kids zone, a new fitness area, offices for the Parks & Recreation Department and 3,000 sf of multipurpose space. Visitors are able to play in two distinctive areas: Kid City, a two-story, STEAM-focused (science, technology, engineering, art and math) play and activity center for children; and The Gym, an expansion of the adult workout area that includes new cardio and weightlifting equipment. To help keep kids active, the first floor has a giant bead roller coaster, giant blocks, an outdoor music garden with 26 instruments and musical plants, and a Luckey Climber. This is a three-dimensional climbing sculpture, one of three in the state. The second floor focuses on keeping your mind active with a giant Lite Brite, green screen, play grocery and kitchen, and an art studio. The Greenwood Community Center has become a destination facility to work the mind and body.
