Eskenazi OT/PT

Eskenazi Health Rehabilitation Service specialists provide physical, occupational and speech therapy to both inpatients and outpatients for a wide range of needs. To better accommodate the expanding growth of occupational and physical therapy on the hospital’s main campus and renovation of an existing 4,400 sf shell space was planned. This renovation also involved the relocation of DME (durable medical equipment) services to better serve the clinic. arcDESIGN worked with the facilities leadership team, OT/PT department leadership and user groups to develop the appropriate space program to best accommodate the increased outpatient population. The clinic consists of an open gym with physical and occupational therapy equipment and staff work counters. Six exam rooms surround the open gym for private patient visits. A new waiting space and registration area was designed adjacent to the hospital’s main public concourse. With the very public location of the clinic, design and aesthetics coupled with patient safety and staff workflow became key drivers throughout the project.
