A “Community Center which also offers Healthcare,” this Primary Care facility was designed for the community while coordinating with the architectural brand developed for the new Eskenazi Health Hospital. The facility, which is a reuse of an addition to a 33,000 sf abandoned Circuit City building, is a one-stop shop for basic healthcare.
It also offers amenities with is Cafe, Multi-purpose Event Rooms and exterior walking trails and greenspace. The aesthetic of bright colors, natural materials, textures and courtyard gardens were inspired by the native architecture and the diverse cultures represented within the surrounding Lafayette Square area. The central circulation spine, or “Community Corridor,” acts as the activity hub and provides clear wayfinding throughout the building for its multilingual and disadvantaged patient base.
