It was important for Hazel Dell Christian Church to meet their vision of “Connecting Kids to Christ.”  To help achieve this vision, Hazel Dell and arcDESIGN embarked on a journey to create a space that would encourage growth, learning and friendship.

Scope:   arcDESIGN designed a new Children’s Ministry wing for Hazel Dell Christian Church.  Spaces included ten new classrooms, arranged for rotational teaching, a huge entry with security and children’s playscape, kitchen and two large group instruction rooms.  All rooms are brightly lit and colorful.  Large windows are the norm, bringing abundant day-lighting to the space.

Featured Facts:  At a programming meeting, a Sunday School teacher noted that she could tell most Bible stories if given a trail, river, tree, boat and mountains as props.  So that is exactly what we did!  Within the architecture, all five elements can be found, some subtle and others quite obvious.  These props will serve as a visual display for the teachers and children.
