FROM DIY TO AIA
Brian Mader, AIA
Brian makes killer animal shadow puppets, specializing in gorillas, for his kids.
Brian wanted to be an architect since the fifth grade – after a run of wanting to be a basketball player, a mail man and a bank teller. Continual home projects with his dad inspired him to want to design and build. Over the course of his childhood, his dad led a motley crew of Brian, his mother, brother and a collection of uncles and friends in building a variety of projects. They built a garage, sheds, decks, porches, a slew of interior renovation projects, and even dug a ¼ acre pond in the backyard. Brian joined arcDESIGN in 2010 to manage arcDESIGN’s healthcare sector. His expertise in design and exceeding the needs of his clients is widely known and respected.
