arcDESIGN, an energetic architectural + interiors firm in downtown Indianapolis has current openings for an Interior Designer working with our corporate team. We are seeking talented graduate designers with two to seven years of experience. The designer will support our larger project teams by developing interior design, preparing interior design drawings, and following the project through construction. The successful candidate will also provide a leadership role in small to medium-sized projects as capable.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Leader and Project Architect to understand the goals for the team and the project. Work within the framework established to support the delivery of Architecture and Interiors as required to achieve the client’s goals for the project.
• Support the Team Leadership in their efforts to “engage architecture and interior design at its highest level.”   
  • Can assist or lead a project team to produce quality interior design work in all project phases
  • Has expertise in creating innovative designs
  • Can work closely with the Lead Interior Designer in managing the client on larger projects
  • Can coordinate all aspects of the project work with architects and engineers
  • Has ability to draw or represent design thinking using various design tools, including Revit, Enscape, hand sketching or Sketch-up type tools
  • Maintains strong relationships with Clients through excellent communication skills, reliability, punctuality and innovation
  • Has a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines
  • Provides accuracy and attention to detail
  • Is experienced in Revit and rendering
  • Construction Document and Construction Administration experience is a plus
  • Has strong communication and time management skills
• Engage in Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • Support the team’s goal to deliver Architecture within budgets, schedules, and criteria established.
  • Meet with Product representatives to understand product alternatives and proper specifications at the direction of team leadership.
  • Design for Compliance with applicable Codes.

Required Skills Include

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s or Professional Degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design
• Experience: 2-7 years of experience interning or working in a professional architectural setting
• Design Software: Revit experience is preferred. Basic CAD knowledge is helpful. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, CET, Adobe Creative Suite and other 3D software is beneficial.
• Strong graphic design abilities
• Able to work both as part of a team and independently.
