For a space to be successful, it needs to begin with a good floor plan. Our interior design team listens to our client’s needs and goals for the space and then develop informed layout options for testing and review before moving further into design. We often gain a lot of insight from our clients during these initial design reviews and end up moving forward with a plan that is a hybrid of several concepts.
Driven by informed design and a strong concept, finish selection can set the tone and character of your space, support your company’s story and branding, and determine how well your space will hold up to daily use. The finishes are often one of the first parts of your building that your clients, visitors, and staff will interact with both visually and physically. We take great care to listen to and understand our client’s vision and work closely with them to define how their physical space will embody that vision.
Our team values building designs and products that put the health and wellbeing of building occupants at the forefront. In addition, we prefer to start our finish conversations using sustainable or green-certified products that will also fit typical budgets and meet the rigorous maintenance standards of our clients. To us, wellbeing and sustainability are more than a box to check- they’re integral to the way we think about and design spaces. Our team includes LEED Accredited Professionals and a WELL Accredited Professional to assist clients who are interested in their projects achieving (or simply designing to) either of those building certifications.
arcDESIGN designs and documents all of our projects in a 3D modeling software called Revit. This makes it easier for us to envision your spaces, avoid costly system conflicts, and study daylighting. In addition, this also allows us to present our design for your building in real-time 3D walkthroughs, make changes on the fly, study finish materials, and create photo-realistic renderings. We find that these walkthroughs are an invaluable design and communication tool for both our client and our design team and often prevent misunderstandings and costly design changes.
If you are starting fresh with new furniture, fixtures, and equipment, or incorporating a mix of new and old, we can help select and specify these items. Depending on needs and budget, we will work with local furniture dealers, online retailers, or local shops and fabricators to provide furniture that functions well and enhances the overall interior design.
Our interior design team can coordinate with your preferred art consultant, collaborate with local artists for custom-commissioned pieces, or search independently for pieces to complement and highlight your space. We know that finishing touches can often make the biggest first impression.
Lighting is one of the most critical aspects of a great design. Improper lighting can make your space visually uncomfortable or non-functional while good lighting can make your space vibrant. We routinely coordinate lighting layout, function, and fixture selections with our electrical engineer consultants and local lighting designers and reps.
At arcDESIGN, interior designers form an integral part to each project team. Our designers work with architects and engineers to provide input on everything from structure to space planning. Working together from the start improves efficiency, consistency, and overall visual impact.
Our team sees interior design as more than the "final touches". We believe that great design begins with technical acumen, so we add our expertise to space planning, accessibility, and code compliance before building on that foundation with aesthetics like furniture and finishes.
We create interior designs that fit each client’s visual brand. Whether that’s a modern, cutting edge treatment or a more timeless approach, we look for fresh, updated, sustainable solutions that make a statement and beautifully reflect each client’s perspective.
