VAIL Expands: New Lab Facilitates Drone Research
Indiana University’s Vehicle Autonomy and Intelligence Lab (VAIL) expands its capabilities with a new space dedicated to studying drone flight and behavior. This expansion aims to advance research in planning, learning, and coordination techniques for autonomous systems, encompassing both single and multi-robot scenarios. Potential applications range from environmental monitoring and security to search and rescue and smart transportation. VAIL’s core mission remains focused on developing methodologies to enhance the autonomy and intelligence of robotic systems, including unmanned ground, aerial, and aquatic vehicles.
